My StoryI am the author of ‘Guide to Ontario Building Legislation’ (Carswell), 'The Condominium Resource Book', as well as numerous published articles on subjects in the land use planning and development field. I have been a speaker at professional seminars given to, among others, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Association of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers, Ontario Association of Committees of Adjustment and Consent Authorities, and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute. He has been a barrister and solicitor in Ontario since 1977, and a solicitor of England and Wales (non-practising) since 1996, with my legal practice centering in the fields of real estate, land development, building and construction, and municipal law. During the course of my continuing professional career I have represented individuals, business and industrial organizations and corporations, ratepayer and labour groups, municipalities and other public entities in the processes associated with government administrative tribunals, including the Ontario Municipal Board, the Environmental Assessment Board, the Ontario Building Code Commission, the Ontario Liquor Licensing Board, the License Appeal Tribunal, as well as special purpose officials, commissions and public councils and committees across Ontario. I represent my client's interests at all levels including administrative tribunals, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court and Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
